Your Letters 2 Report post Posted April 15, 2020 I see that the Vegetable and Fruit Chart by Janet and Steven does not list juglone sensitivity under Problems for any plant. Since sensitive plants include the nightshade family (tomatoes, etc.) among other popular food plants, this is not a trivial problem if you have black walnut trees. We found out the hard way. Also, of the resource sites I've checked, none mention that planting outside the root zone is a fool's errand when you have a gazillion nut-burying squirrels in the bargain. - J.H. -Here is a good bulletin about gardening near black walnut: https://www.johnson.k-state.edu/docs/lawn-and-garden/in-house-publications/trees-shrubs/Landscaping%20Near%20Black%20Walnut%20Trees.pdf
