johnrichter 1 Report post Posted September 2, 2013 I have rented a heated greenhouse plot at Waterford Oaks. I will have use of it from 13-Sept through 13-April. My question is, what kind of veggies can I grow in that environment? I'm thinking that the very short winter days will affect flowering plants like cucumbers or melons or tomatoes. Am I limited to leaf veggies like lettuce and spinach? I've searched the web, but it all seems to be about unheated hoop houses.
Rudy 3 Report post Posted September 6, 2013 You ought to post this in the vegetables forum. no one is likely to find it here in "how to use forums."

Margaret Thele 16 Report post Posted September 26, 2013 I've got a plot there too- Since the greenhouse is basically cool - down to 50-55F at night, you should think cool season crops - aside from the usual leafy culprits, you can grow all the root crops - me, I am trying potatoes this year. I am also doing an early crop of pole beans to see if they might do something. I also do herbs and there are some wonderful herbs in that small bed for the taking... Message me if you need more info - mine is the bed with the purple glass totem...
