MG gal 5 Report post Posted May 10, 2013 Again this year I am finding a lot of leaf tiers on my H. Annabelles. I have been carefully pulling apart the little leaf pouch and squishing the pale yellow caterpillar. Is any one else seeing these pests on their Annabells? Steven Nikkila 32 Report post Posted May 12, 2013 The caterpillar is probably a Olethreutes ferriferana that feeds on hydrangeas. It is a rather uncommon moth for this area and really does little damage to the plant just disfigures some leaves. You can raise one and see what type of moth it becomes. We haven't seen any leaf tiers on hydrangeas, but now will start looking.
