Does anyone know about a new virus or disease affecting Kinock Out Roses?

Our garden club was told that this new disease is spreading and the only solution is to dig out and dispose of the entire bush.

I am reluctant to plant new Knock Out Roses as I had planned.

If you are referring to Rose Rosette Disease - that is a sporadic disease, spread by a tiny mite, that first infects wild multiflora roses and can then spread to other multi-stemmed roses like Knock-out and Shrub roses. ....

Unless you know for a fact this is the disease referenced in your post and presence of the disease has been reported and confirmed in your area you are safe to plant roses as you planned. Even if the disease is present this year it doesn't mean you can't plant roses next year.
